Change Readiness
What is your organization’s capacity for change? How will your upcoming change impact each person, business unit or stakeholder group? What new systems will you require as a result of this change? How do you maintain a state of readiness without burning out your employees? How will you measure the effectiveness of change?
The success of your change initiative will be largely dependent upon your organization’s readiness to embrace change or willingness to doing something different. Readiness can mean something different to everyone impacted by a change. Understanding the extent your organization is ready for change, providing them with the tools and support needed, (e.g., sponsorship, stakeholder management, communications and training) will be the key to a successful implementation.
A successful implementation of change can create an extreme competitive advantage and high return on investment (ROI). McKinsey & Company conducted a study (over 40 large scale change projects) that examined the effect of an organizational change management (OCM) program on a project’s ROI. The study revealed that
- 143% ROI when an excellent OCM program was part of the initiative
- 35% ROI when there was a poor OCM program or no program at all
We can assess your readiness and help you to prepare your organization for change. We can also facilitate discussions and workshops to help you determine whether or not to proceed with a change initiative, identify what activities that needs to be incorporated into project/program plans and what resources and sponsorship will be needed to champion the change.
